ईश्वर की गवाही

एक बहुत ही गरीब ब्राह्मण बाँके बिहारी जी का अनन्य भक्त्त था | एक बार कठिन समय आने पर उस ब्राह्नण ने गाँव के महाजन से कुछ धन उधार लिया और कड़ी मेहनत करके हर महीने थोड़ा थोड़ा धन लौटा देता | जब अंतिम किश्त चुकता करता उस से पहले महाजन का ईमान डोल गया | महाजन ने उसे अदालत का नोटिस भिजवा दिया यह सोच कर की ब्राहाण को धन लौटते किसी ने नहीं देखा और ब्राह्मण को लूटा जा सकता है | कई बार धन की लालसा इंसान को इंसानियत से गिरा देती है कुछ ऐसा ही महाजन के साथ हुआ |
अदालत के नोटिस में उसने लिखा की ब्राह्मण ने आज तक धन नहीं लौटाया और अब उससे पूरा धन व्याज के साथ वापिस चाहिए |
जब ब्राह्मण को इस बात का ज्ञात हुआ वह महाजन के पास गया और बहुत विनती की और सफाई दी की उसने पूरा धन समय से लौटाया था | परन्तु लालच से भरा महाजन टस से मस नहीं हुआ |आखिरकर मामला कोर्ट में पहुंचा |ब्राह्मण बिना डरे बोला की जज साहब मैंने इस महाजन को पूरा धन समय पर लौटाया है | अब तो आखिरी किश्त लौटने वाला था की इस महाजन ने नोटिस भिजवा दिया | साहब मै निर्दोष हूँ. जज ने पूछा की क्या तुम्हारे पास कोई गवाह है जिसकी उपस्थिति में तुम महाजन को धन लौटते थे |कुछ सोचने पर ब्राह्मण ने उत्तर दिया जी जज साहब मेरी तरफ से गवाही बाँके बिहारी जी देंगे | अदालत ने गवाह का पता पूछा तो ब्राह्मण ने बताया बाँके बिहारी , वल्द वासुदेव , बाँके बिहारी मंदिर वृन्दावन | उक्त पत्ते पर सम्मन जारी कर दिया गया पुजारी के पास जब सम्मन पहुंचा तो उसने बाँके बिहारी की मूर्ति के सामने रख दिया और बोला भगवान आपको गवाही देने कचहरी जाना होगा | गवाही के दिन एक बूढ़ा आदमी सचमुच मे जज के सामने आया और बता गया की पैसे देते समय मे हमेशा साथ होता था| और फलां फलां तारीख को रकम लौटाई गयी थी जज ने जब महाजन का वहीखाता देखा तो यह बात सत्य निकली
रकम तो लिखी गयी  थी परन्तु नाम फ़र्ज़ी डाला गया था | जज ने ब्राह्मण को निर्दोष करार देते हुए जाने दिया । जज के ह्रदय में हलचल मच गयी इस देव क्रिया को देख कर । वो स्तब्ध थाकि आखिर वह गवाह था कौन। उसने ब्राह्मण से पूछा। ब्राह्मण ने बताया कि बिहारीजी के सिवा कौन हो सकता है।इस घटना ने जज को इतना विभोर कर दिया किया कि वह इस्तीफा देकर, घर-परिवार छोड़कर फकीर बन गया। कहते है कि वही न्यायाधीश बहुत साल बाद पागल बाबा के नाम से वृंदावन लौट कर आया।

The Legend behind Gop Ashtami

Gop Ashtami is celebrated on Kaartik month, Shukla Astami tithi. This is very important festival dedicated to Lod Krishna. According to legend when Indra, the chief of gods accepted defeat from the hands of lord Krishna, his pride was shattered,he along with his divine cow  'Surbhi' came to Lord Krishna to worship him. He understood the divine powers of Krishna. Even the Nanda, the foster father of Krishna witnessed this miracle. To bless his son , he allowed him to become  the independent cowherd. Previously Lord Krishna only looked after calves. For the first time on this day he came to Vrindavan  with a cow.He also got the title of "Govinda(king of cows)" today.
This day is celebrated in Vrindavan and Mathura with utmost faith.It is believe that in cow all the deties dwell. So cow worship on this day is very auspicious.Cowsheds are decorated and special food is offered to cow.Offerings  in the form of kind or food is to be given to cowherds also which is a custom.

Govardhan Parvat and Lord Rama

The Govardhan Parvat(hill) is one of the most sacred manifestation of Lord Krishna worshipped by his followers. This sacred hill has a close linkage with Lord Rama also due to involvement of boon given by him to this hill. It is believe that when Lord Rama ordered to built bridge across ocean to Lanka, Hanuman too went to Himalaya mountain ranges to fetch some rocks necessary for building bridge. Hanuman was flying back to Rama after taking one hill,called Govardhan then he came to know that he was too late as the bridge was already built during that time and no more rocks or mountains were needed. This was very disappointing for the Govardhan Hill as he was too eager to have glimpse and divine touch of holy feet of lord Rama. When Lord Rama came to know about this incident, he blessed Govardhan hill that, in Dwapar Yug, he himself would hold Govardhan in his hand and people will worship him.The blessings given by Lord Rama proved true in Dwapar Yug  when he himself incrnated as Lord Krishna and held Govardhan on his little finger for 7 days and nights.
